Willy Klaussner

July 25, 2015

In 2009 the ComingWorldRememberMe brought up the idea to make 600.000 small statues representing 600.000 persons. With this initiative they want to commemorate all World War 1 victims that fell on Belgian soil by creating a symbol for every victim. From 2014 everyone was able to participate in this project by requesting to be godfather/-mother or attend a workshop in one of many locations in Belgium where you could build your own statue. On July 25, 2015 I went to a workshop in Bokrijk where I created my own statue. The statue I made was linked to the German soldier Willy Klaussner, my very first German adoption grave.
